Homemade, traditional German food, a biergarten and live music make the Good Shepherd Oktoberfest an annual favorite on the Gulf Coast. Every bite of food – from the sauerkraut to the baked goods – has been handmade by the congregation.

This is the 23rd year for the two-day event, which also includes live music and entertainment, a biergarten and a giant arts and crafts sale, drawing about 2,500 visitors to the church grounds. The event is Oct. 12 and 13, 4257 Gulf Breeze Pkwy., Gulf Breeze, Fla.
